Does your morning route dictate your success

When I think about the word success, I visualise working hard, getting recognition, creating a business, a product or service that hundreds or millions of people use. But what do successful people do to help them achieve their goals, What are their key routine habits that lead them to success?

We all aspire to greatness, we all want to achieve something, be it owning a house, creating a legacy or becoming financially stable. Whatever your life or current goals are. Ask yourself are your habits helping you reach them? Is your current daily routine helping you attain your goals?

Here are some examples of what I mean. If you want to get into shape and be healthier, does your habit of drinking a beer or glass of wine at the end of the day help you reach that goal? If you want to become a writer, is your habit of scrolling through social media helping you write that book? If you want to get wealthier, is only doing your 9 to 5 helping you achieve that bank account number, or do you need to create a side hustle? What I'm trying to say is that our habits dictate what we become. It's not what you think about that changes your beliefs. It's what you do, that changes your beliefs. Actions speak louder than words.

So what are your morning habits? What you do in the morning can help set up your day. What we do in the morning can have a great effect on our lives. It's what we do with our 24 hours that moulds our future. If I want to have a productive day I get up early. If I want to have a healthier lifestyle I go for a run. Getting up in the early hours of the morning helps me work on personal goals because there are no interruptions, everyone else is still asleep.

My morning routine

  1. Get up at 5am

  2. Go for a run

  3. Have a shower and meditate

  4. Get changed, go to work early to beat traffic

  5. Go for a walk, write or take photos

  6. Have breakfast

  7. Then start my 9 to 5

That's my morning routine, it's nothing special, but I save about half an hour getting to work early because I miss the traffic. Giving me time to think, relax and contemplate before I start work. Now I know not everyone can do this. And everyone has a different life or situation. Be it money, job, family. Write down everything you do in a day. And take note of the amount of time spent on each task. You might find 45mins or even 15mins of free time somewhere in your day. That's more than enough time to start making a change in your life for the better.

Is your morning routine helping you reach your goals? Are your habits and actions helping you to take control and implement your dreams? It's your time, it's your life, make the most of it.
